I am delighted to welcome Tufail Malik to the team as the newest IT Systems Specialist. He is no stranger to Smith Engineering, as he is a graduate from our program with a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Most recently, he has been the Training and Support Coordinator with Queen’s University Library, and prior to that, the Senior IT Systems Support Technician, and an Information Services Technician with the library. You may have seen him within SmithEng as a Technical Lead or a Technical TA for APSC101. He also has supervised the SparQ Studios Makerspace.
He has a passion for the Queen’s community, and in particular, Smith Engineering, and his desire to learn and help faculty, staff and students will make him a valuable asset to the IT Systems and Development Team.
Interests and hobbies (in his own words)…”I enjoy spending my time taking things apart especially if they are broken and need fixing, or DIYing cheaper versions of things I cannot buy or are not available (I built my own 3D printer when I was in First year, recently built a mechanical watch etc.)”
Please give a warm welcome to Tufail!
